Software for the people who inspect houses.

Sillplate is a small independent software business in Nova Scotia. We make one thing: an app that turns what a home inspector photographs and says on site into a finished, branded report.

What we sell

A monthly subscription to Sillplate, priced at $50 CAD per month. A subscription covers one inspector and includes unlimited inspections, unlimited signed reports, photograph storage, dictation, and hosting of finished reports so an inspector's clients can open them.

There is no per report fee, no setup fee, and no minimum term. New accounts get two complete inspections free before any payment is taken, so an inspector can judge the product on their own work rather than on a demonstration.

How it is delivered

Access is immediate and entirely digital. Subscribing unlocks the account at once: there is nothing to ship and nothing to install beyond the app itself. Capture happens on an iPhone, which works without a signal because a great deal of an inspection happens in basements and crawlspaces. Reports are reviewed and downloaded from the web workspace at app.sillplate.ca.

Billing, cancellation and refunds

• Subscriptions are billed monthly in Canadian dollars and renew automatically until cancelled.
• Cancellation takes two taps inside the app, under Billing and plan. There is no notice period, no email to write and nobody to talk to.
• Cancelling stops the next payment. Access continues until the end of the period already paid for, and is not prorated or refunded for the remainder of that month.
• Signed reports remain available whether or not a subscription is active, to the inspector and to the clients they were sent to. Cancelling does not delete an inspector's work.
• If Sillplate fails in a way that stopped an inspector working, write to us. We would rather refund a month than argue about one.

Payments and card details

Payment is processed by Stripe. Card details are entered on Stripe's own checkout and are never seen, handled or stored by us. Subscriptions are managed through Stripe's billing portal, reached from inside the app.

Your data

Inspections, photographs and reports belong to the inspector who made them. Each account's data is isolated at the database level rather than by application code, so one inspector's work cannot be read by another. Data is held in Canada.

We do not sell data, and we do not use one customer's inspections to build anything for another.
